I have a few drinks around the house so I thought I would review them all as I taste them.
I want to try a drink and then write up how it tastes immediately, which means as the day wears I may ramble a bit more in what I write, but that's the fun! I have my drinks, I have films to watch to drink to (Friday 13th series) and I have tasty tasty turkey dinosaurs!

So let’s start with my first drink of the day!
First up is Desperados red.
First up is Desperados red.
I have tried the ordinary Desperados (which I like) before but not seen the red version till a few days ago. It caught my eye and I only had to ponder for a second on whether to buy it before grabbing and whispering ‘miiiiineee, back off! ‘
It has quite a sickly smell to it but not horrible. I don’t really know how to describe the flavour other than sweet and bitter. It’s a good drink to do a drinking game with as it’s not too heavy (currently drinking to every time there is a 3D moment in FTT P3) if you don’t mind it getting a little sickly after a bit.
A few sips in and I’m already burping quite a bit, even though it’s not overly fizzy. After giving some to the bf and asking him what he thought his reply was ‘it tastes weird, like someone’s mixed beer and a crappy red bull with it’ I see his point...
Overall, it’s not too bad and might have again, but I think I prefer the original more over this one!
The next drink is Carling British cider. While I dislike the ads I still wanted to give this a go.

To me it smells kind of...cheesy. I think that might just be me but certain ciders smell kinda cheesy to me. I want some cheese now...
The cider is nice enough. Sweet and crisp and a bit tart, and like the last drink it’s pretty light. Also...fizzy peee (what I thought of as I poured it, not what it does to you I wish to add...) or to quote Black Books, it’s like looking into the eye of a duck!

Don’t think I would have again as there are other ciders I prefer over this one. But a lot better than some others I’ve had, like badgers spit, that was a harsh cider (Which I tried in the very glass I am drinking from today) I think the stuff really was spit from a badger, I wouldn’t have been surprised.
Well I’ll drink up this one, for I have another cider in store, yay!
Time for that other cider...yay!

Brothers toffee apple cider. I have had it before but a long while ago. Smells ready strong of toffee and a tiny bit of banana (one of the worse flavours ever, unless it’s an actual banana, ick!) I blame that on when I was a child if I was ill I was prescribed medicine that was banana flavoured, that stuff was disgusting. To this day I hate banana milkshakes, banoffee pies, and yes even those little banana marshmellow sweety things you get for a couple of pennies. Give me the prawns any day...
Luckily it doesn’t taste on bananas, phew! Tastes just like a toffee apple, and I would rather drink one than try and eat one and get all that gunk stuck in my teeth (yes I’m boring)

I would get this one again as it’s something a bit different and I really like the new label. I have a habit of buying things if they have an interesting looking label, even if that thing is a bit pricey. Sometimes it works like with kraken rum, and then I have the best of both worlds; a cool label with the added bonus of tastiness within, mmm!
Ok then again the more I drink the more bananary it’s tasting, so err..no I won’t have it again. On the plus side, the bf gets to have some more which he is pleased about. Maybe the last drink will end on a high note but considering how it looks I’m not sure.
Last drink is something a bit more unusual the bf bought at a Japanese shop in Brighton we often go to for the yummy onigiri.

It’s a fruit liquor and at 15%vol so it's a bit stronger. And oh yes, there is a plum in it too.
Opening it, it smells kind of plasticy or plasticiney which isn’t overly appetising. However tasting it, it tastes exactly like a Christmas pudding. It’s really sweet and fruity. The smell when going to drink it is a bit off putting but it tastes like I’m drinking Christmas so yum!
I feel I should be watching QVC as I drink it to make it feel like Christmas in July. Been watching some of that on QVC and
err...
yeah...
This one I would have again but it’s way too sweet to have much off, like a smoothy made of mince pies.
And that concludes my boozy booze reviews. Was fun to try all these drink and write about them. I don’t know if what I wrote would encourage anyone to try some (if you are old enough to that is) but hopefully you may give at least one of these a go, or even encourage you to try something new if you see something interesting in a shop.
Next time I do one of these it will be about soft drink as I have quite a few in my fridge to drink and a couple I’ve seen I want to buy which includes a hot wing soda, which will be amazing I’m sure. Not sure if that’s amazing good or amazing bad but you shall know when I buy it, woo!
